The video attempts to provide a nutshell overview of the dominant trend among Macedonian Media in reporting on LGBT issues, by focusing on a case study, namely a recent case related to a homophobic outburst initiated by the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, and the homophobic support he and his democratic-Christian conservative party (VMRO-DPMNE) got from the pro-governmental media. Although focusing on a specific case, the video tries to present a brief insight into the main strategies used by media for the purpose of generating hate speech, discrimination and inequality targeting sexual minorities, and thus deploying populist and sensationalist rhetoric to sustain existing prejudices, fears and intolerance, while promoting nationalistic agenda.
